As a social landlord, we accommodate and feed some 250 homeless people every night of the year in 18 premises around Bristol.
These premises offer a mix of family houses, self-contained flats and bed & breakfast hotels to those for whom the Government accepts responsibility. We work closely with a variety of charitable groups, including Bristol Foundation Housing, as well as social workers and other professionals, to provide residents with support and assistance in moving towards independence.
Since homelessness can be associated with unemployment and even crime, our residents are offered mentoring, with a view to arranging suitable training to help in seeking jobs.
In recent years we have invested heavily in upgrading most of our hostel rooms to provide self-contained accommodation, which offers residents more independence. We are therefore able to provide a complete range of accommodation to suit the capabilities of the individuals and families. The self-contained rooms allow people to move forwards as their circumstances improve.
The Group also owns over 80 flats for rent to the private sector, concentrating on the entry-level end of the market, such as young couples, single parents and the elderly.
